Aromata: One of the best restaurants in Palma de Mallorca
Elisabeth Blue - 5/31/18

Going out to a restaurant in Palma de Mallorca is a treat for your taste buds! Palma is a paradise for those who love good food.

In Palma de Mallorca, there are lots of restaurants located across the whole island; on the outskirts, on the beach front, in rural areas… you can go wild tasting its great and varied offering.

Aromata Restaurant

The best restaurants in Palma de MallorcaTaking into account the huge number of restaurants and the constant new launches, it’s hard to keep up to date with the gastronomic scene. That’s why in this post, we’ll try and give you a selection that won’t let you down.

The stellar reputation of Mallorcan chef, Andreu Genestra is clear at the famous mallorca restaurant, “Aromata”. Here you can enjoy a Mallorcan, Mediterranean market kitchen concept made with high quality ingredients, right down to the smallest details on the plate.

The restaurant is located in the Centro Cultural Sa Nostra and you’ll be able to enjoy the typical Mallorcan patio, which creates a great atmosphere in the restaurant under its high ceilings and sandstone walls.

The best bit about “Aromata”, without a doubt, is the food. It offers a daily menu named Aromata Migdia, which features three dishes and changes every week. It also includes bread (you can also order olive oil and olives for a small cost), a glass of wine, water or beer at a reasonable price. You’ll love it!!!

If you fancy a wander around the island, another restaurant owned by Andreu Genestra is located to the north at the rural hotel, Predi de Son Jaumell. Here, you’ll find his famous restaurant which has held a Michelin star since 2014. It’s located in bucolic surroundings and they make their own extra virgin olive oil and wine, as well as growing their own fruit and vegetables. The bread and pastries are also homemade! All of this in a 16th century building with views over the Castillo de Capdepera if you try it, you’ll most definitely been back!

Continuing our culinary route around the restaurants in Palma de Mallorca, to the north of the Plaça Major de Palma you’ll find the restaurant “Claxón. A new idea which came to life thanks to a global experience by three youngsters, who in 2009, decided to combine their talent and strengths to make sure that they stood out on the island.

The cuisine is essentially Spanish, using fresh, market produce. The menu and daily menu change according to the season. Delightful!

At the Gerreria in the heart of Palma, you’ll find “Juanita Cuina Fresca”, a gastronomic gem. Here, the chef, Marc, designs the different daily menus, heading off to the market each day to buy the produce and depending on what’s around, he prepares the menu.

It’s spacious, airy and has 9 tables, so you’ll need to book advance. There’s a set menu and nothing else! A true gastronomic experience: taste and enjoy what the chef has prepared that day!

“Clandestí Taller Gastronomic”, offers a cutting edge tasting menu. When you go into this restaurant owned by two young and incredibly talented chefs, you’ll feel like you’re in an underground location. Here you can enjoy an intimate experience while watching the chefs in action during a delicious lunch or dinner in modern and elegant surroundings.

La Rosa del Mar” is a must for lovers of good food and authentic flavours. It’s a great restaurant which offers Mediterranean cuisine you’ll love. Don’t miss out on the salmorejo, mussels, gyoza, desserts and rice dishes. Everything is 100% recommended!

You’ll be sure to find other great restaurants in palma de Mallorca, but if you visit the ones we’ve recommended, you definitely won’t regret it. Bon appétit!
