Triathlon Mallorca: Mallorca is for triathletes!
Elisabeth Blue - 11/29/18

The triathlon is one of the most complete sports in existence, since it combines three disciplines as hard as swimming, cycling and running. Specifically, this Olympic sport's official competitions are: 1500 metres swimming, 40 kilometres cycling and a 10-kilometre run.

The sport's athletes, whether professional or amateur, know very well about how highly demanding the discipline is and the perseverance and effort its intense training sessions require. The technical aspects of each of the three sports has to be practised extensively, and one's muscles have to be exceptionally prepared with specific aerobic exercises with the aim of achieving balance between the triad of activities.

The sport's complexity requires athletes to look for an environment combining all the infrastructure and necessary elements to be able to train with resolve. A good climate is also needed because part of the training is usually done outdoors. The island of Mallorca has all this and much more! That’s why preparing a triathlon competition in Mallorca is a sure bet. You might say it is like playing with a bit of an edge on the competition.

5 compelling reasons to choose Mallorca to train for a triathlon

  • Because of its mild climate.

Mallorca is synonymous with a mild climate year round, without weather featuring either extreme heat or cold. This allows outdoor training practically every day of the year, a key factor when one has to prepare for long-distance races.
  • Because of the nature and scenery.

Bike rides or running in Mallorca are both a joy because the island's terrain presents you with countless routes through forests and mountains or along the coast. Without a doubt, an added bonus which allows us to find strength when it seems that we just can't go on any more.
  • Because it allows us take in maximum oxygen.

Pollution and Mallorca are mutually exclusive. On the whole island, one breathes pure air and many areas are nearly unspoilt, locations where car exhaust fumes and pollution have no place. In these conditions, the effects of training increase dramatically, since they let us clean our lungs and detox from the detrimental effects of the big city.
  • A chance to train our minds.

In order to have a great performance and give it our best, it isn't enough just to exercise our muscles, our mind plays an equally important role. In this sense Mallorca, thanks to its tranquillity and natural beauty, is the ideal place to take it easy, relax and get the concentration you need.
  • Because of its unbeatable facilities.

Mallorca doesn’t just stand out because of its magnificent natural environment, it also has a wealth of top quality sporting infrastructure, some of it built into sport hotel resorts.
