Christmas Holidays: Give the gift of Holidays and Love with Hotels VIVA
Elisabeth Blue - 12/16/19

The arrival of Father Christmas and the three wise men are undoubtedly the most special events in December, and not only because of the excitement they elicit from the youngest members of the household. Grown-ups too look forward to this brief opportunity to switch off, which we need before embarking on the new year. Don’t you agree?

The Christmas atmosphere on Majorca is simply magical and features very mild temperatures: between 9° and 16°. Although the island won’t provide you with days of snow, you will feel as though you are in a winter paradise of vegetation and smells characteristic of the season. If you’re thinking about enjoying Christmas holidays on Majorca, you’ll find a host of activities for sharing with the family.

What’s on in Majorca in December?

  • Ice rink

In Port Adriano you and your family will be able to revel on the only ice rink that you’ll find in this Balearic Island town. It’s delightful because it’s a totally free, environmentally-friendly ice rink with a slide for all the family where you’ll even be able to get skating classes.

Who said that fun was only for kids? What’s more, if you’re going to spend Christmas on Majorca, you mustn’t miss the grand concert and exhibitions scheduled to be held in Port Adriano during the holiday season.

  • Christmas market

We know that no Christmas is complete without visiting the famous Christmas markets. In the towns of Majorca you’ll find a host of traditional options where you can buy a beautiful memento of Majorca in the wintertime. Among the Christmas options that you can enjoy on Majorca are:

- Puerto Portals market

This Christmas market has one of the most attractive culinary offerings in the area. You’ll also be able to savour Majorca’s traditional Christmas dishes. The little ones will amuse themselves too, with animated entertainments and kids’ workshops.

- Plaza Mayor market

Here you’ll be able to revel not only in family attractions but also the famous route of nativity scenes laid out in the city’s various squares. You mustn’t miss the most popular nativity scene, which is to be found in Plaça Cort!

  • Alcudia

Find the finest Christmas products and sample the special Christmas tapas. And don’t miss the shows in the Plaza de la Constitución.

  • Christmas parties and fairs

The switching on of the Christmas lights in Alcudia is quite a spectacle! We invite you to conduct a tour of its villages to enjoy their fairs and parties, which also form part of the Christmas atmosphere on Majorca. Half-way through December you can enjoy the Christmas Fair in the Plaza de l’Abeuvador y Constitución in Muro, where there will be games and attractions for all-comers.

Naturally, Majorca is never short of an enticing bar or two in its wonderful historic streets; the ideal place to sip a hot chocolate or the odd drink with your friends as dusk falls.
