Descubre la Serra de Tramuntana
admin - 5/19/15

Discover the Serra de Tramuntana

There are some places in the world where you can visit monuments, no matter if they are natural or achitectural ones, which are worth a visit. Who has been to Paris without visiting the Eiffel Tower or to Barcelona without paying a visit to the Sagrada Familia? Just as in both cases, we don’t think that anyone who visits Mallorca can avoid discovering the amazing landscapes that are hiding in a gorgeous nature treasure: the Serra de Tramuntana.

02G44822

This 90 kilometers long mountain range goes across the northwest of Mallorca through 18 towns, among which there are some of the most charming villages in the island. And their charm is usually due to their privileged location, surrounded by the great mountains and landscapes of the Serra de Tramuntana. Delving into the Serra de Tramuntana is also discovering the culture, the identity and the traditions of Mallorca and some of the mos beautiful and natural places such as the forests full with Balearic holm-oak woodland, garrigue and the calcicole shrubland or the most special beaches in Mallorca and the highest mountains in the island, as the Puig Major, Massanella and Galatzó.

Because the Serra de Tramuntana offers you many routes that will definitely move you: the always surprising trip through the Torren de Pareis, which will take you to the unique beach of Sa Calobra, and the Piedra en Seco route (GR221), with its 85 kilometers between Deiá and Pollença that will allow you to discover some of the most important historical vestiges of the Serra de Tramuntana. The walls built with the “piedra en seco” technique are one of the key factors that have become the Serra de Tramuntana a World Heritage by UNESCO as it preserves the history and culture of Mallorca, which can be seen and felt in some of the properties and landscapes that fulfill the Serra de Tramuntana.
