Visiting Mallorca in October or November is a great option for people who want to explore the island's incredible natural landscapes without the crowds - it's a paradise to be enjoyed all year round!

If you want to escape the hustle and bustle, mass tourism, and sweltering heat of the summer season, then autumn is the ideal time to enjoy the peace and quiet of the island at your own pace.

Visiting its beaches and coves, doing water sports, hiking, cycling routes, playing golf or immersing yourself in the streets of the island's most beautiful villages are just some of the things you can do in Mallorca in the autumn.

And what's more, visiting Mallorca in October will mean that you can experience the different landscapes that come with the changing seasons, giving rise to new colours and natural wonders.

What’s the weather like in Mallorca in October?

Our beloved Mediterranean island enjoys good weather almost all year round, and the weather in October is still pleasant (albeit without the high temperatures of summer).

The average is usually around 20°C, dropping a little at night, but this can vary depending on the area of the island you visit. For example, in the Serra de Tramuntana, temperatures tend to be around 15°C. However, if you go to the Mallorcan capital, then temperatures can reach 24°C - the perfect temperature for walking the streets!

The water in the Mediterranean Sea is also around these levels, with temperatures of between 20°C and 25°C, ideal for a refreshing dip in a deserted cove.

Even though October is the rainiest month of the year, it’s usually sunny in Mallorca, and you’ll be able to go for walks, play sports and enjoy the island in all its beauty.

What can you do in Mallorca in October?

The main attraction of this Mediterranean island is its scenery: beaches, coves, mountains and charming villages. October may be the best time to explore these landscapes if you prefer avoiding the crowds, and slightly cooler but very pleasant temperatures.

Hiking is one of the favourite activities for sportsmen and women who visit Mallorca in the autumn, and it’s a very special and active way to enjoy the island’s most special landscapes. If you’re looking for something with a bit more adrenaline, then cycle tourism is also very popular at this time of the year.

Another popular option in Mallorca in October is to embark on the gastronomic and wine routes. Autumn is harvest time on the island and you can start to enjoy the seasonal dishes. In addition, you can taste the region’s most renowned wines in one of the 70 Mallorcan wineries. It’s an ideal time to plan gastronomic tours in Mallorca's most famous restaurants, without too many crowds and hardly any waiting times.

And how could we not mention the countless walks through its charming villages? It really is an ideal opportunity to visit and enjoy the villages with fewer people around. You can stroll through their narrow streets and feel as if you were in the middle of a fairy tale. Among the villages you shouldn’t miss are Deià, Alcudia, Sóller Valldemossa and Banyalbufar. And if you want to experience something totally unique, then we recommend taking the old train that goes from Palma to Sóller.

Apart from these beautiful villages, a walk around Palma is a must. The island's capital is a spectacular city with so much to offer. Discover its old town, with its impressive ruins, emblematic buildings, and museums, which will all help you understand the island’s complex and rich heritage and history.

Finally, on the island there are more than 20 top-quality golf courses with breathtaking views of the mountains and the sea. It’s for this reason that Mallorca is one of the most popular destinations for golf enthusiasts in autumn and winter.

Mallorca is undoubtedly a paradise that knows no seasons. And, although summer is the most popular time to visit it due to its spectacular beaches and coves, this Mediterranean island has a lot to offer all year round. Come and discover another side of the island this autumn and enjoy a unique trip.

¡VIVA Mallorca in October!
