Looking for great ideas for spending the Easter holidays with kids on the idyllic island of Mallorca? There are always tons of fun things to do at this wonderful time of year: day trips, theme parks, restaurants and plenty more besides.
As winter fades it gives way to the long-anticipated spring on the island of the sun…and with it comes a widespread sensation of general happiness, not just because it enables people to take a short holiday but also because they feel filled with energy and the urge to travel.
If one thing’s certain it’s that family holidays help people come together and offer the chance to switch off from your daily routine.
Check out some of the coolest things to do during a week of family holidays in Mallorca:
1- Day trips in Mallorca
There are heaps of excursions you can do with the kids in Mallorca, whether it’s for half a day or the whole day. The island offers unrivalled natural landscapes, featuring fantastic pristine beaches and verdant woodlands.
One of Mallorca’s gems is the Sierra de Tramontana, where you will find a wealth of hiking trails, including the possibility of exploring enchanting villages and places with landscapes that will leave you breathless.
A gothic-style castle built in the 14th century for King James II of Mallorca. Located in a district surrounded by woods, from the upper part of the castle you can view the entire city of Palma with spectacular panoramas of the Sierra de Tramontana and the Pla de Mallorca.
These days it houses a museum devoted to the city’s history, and is thus open to the public. This castle is a must-see highlight of any itinerary and is guaranteed to delight the younger members of the family.
3- A visit to Palma Cathedral
An authentic work of art in the gothic style. Also known as “La Seu”, it is a compulsory port of call for anyone visiting the island. Its construction was completed in 1346, and no subsequent work was carried out until 1601.
It is located very near the Bay of Palma, on the site of the Roman and Renaissance walls that formerly protected the city, making it a cathedral that is unique in the world. I can promise you that it will leave no-one indifferent.
4- S´Albufera Natural Park
The S´Albufera Natural Park is the largest and most important in the Balearic Islands, where you can find the greatest degree of diversity in indigenous flora and fauna. There are also small hides from which it is possible to observe the birds.
Ideal for touring by bicycle or on foot with your family, and afterwards I recommend that you get to know Muro beach: with its fine sand and crystal-clear water it is one of the largest on the island of the sun.
5- Hotels for families
The hotels in Mallorca are designed with all the family in mind, but especially the younger members of the family…water parks at the hotel, bouncy castles, organised entertainments and much more to ensure they have fun.
. Hotel VIVA Sunrise. The best monitors and entertainers do everything possible to guarantee that the kids enjoy their holidays by organising super-fun activities. And to cool down they can always take a plunge in the swimming pools.
. Aparthotel VIVA Blue & Spa. Fun for kids is assured with children’s entertainment activities.... And because you deserve it, while they’re busy enjoying themselves you can take advantage of a relaxing massage in the spa.
. Hotel VIVA Edén Lago. Located next to Esperanza Lake, this hotel benefits from some spectacular views. Swimming pools, entertainment, games…and everything needed to have an unbeatable family holiday.
