Autumn is the best season for walking and hiking in Mallorca, and you’ll be able to really appreciate the change of season as your eyes take in the beauty of its landscape. Several walking clubs offer a varied programme of autumn excursions at this time of year. Discover the new Vía Verde that extends from Manacor to Artà or practice an activity that has become very popular in recent years on the island: Nordic Walking.
Another good option for autumn activities is to go on a bike ride, or rent one with the whole family and explore the island’s roads. Cycle tourism is a sustainable way to get around without having to go far from your accommodation, enabling you to discover the different places to visit in Mallorca at your leisure.

Among the best known are the Robert Graves Museum in Deià, the Chopin Museum in Valldemossa, or the Royal Palace Museum in La Almudaina, located next to the chapel in Palma de Mallorca.
What can you do in Mallorca in Autumn?
There are several villages to visit in the autumn – villages that keep their charm whatever the season. You can visit the village of Valldemossa and have a hot chocolate with coca de patata (a type of light potato bread in the form of a roll) in one of its small cafés. Coca de patata are typical on this island and are known as the famous sweet rolls of Valldemossa, which you’ll find in every bakery – they’re ideal to enjoy both in autumn and winter.
In the town of Alaró, at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, you’ll find Alaró Castle, located at the top of a mountain, and which dates back to 902. It gives you some of the most beautiful autumn landscapes in Mallorca. You can get there on foot from Alaró and then come down to try a delicious roast lamb in the famous restaurant Es Verger.

If you don't want to stay in the city, then travelling to the rural villages and trying the local dishes in the bars and restaurants is also a good way to visit these villages full of small local producers.
