Mirador Sóller
The Mirador Sóller is a beautiful spot that you can find on the road from the Serra de Tramuntana to Sóller. There’s a small car park on one of the bends, where you can park and take some spectacular pictures. The viewpoint also has a restaurant, known as the Mirador Ses Barques, which serves typical Mallorcan food. From this viewpoint, you’ll be able to marvel at the green mountains of the sierra, and the views of the port of Sóller and surrounding buildings.
Mirador Es Colomer
One of the most beautiful viewpoints visited by tourists is the Mirador Es Colomer, which has spectacular views of the sea and many different routes you can take along the rocky walkways. Its steps and paths will help you find the best viewpoints for some spectacular photos as you walk along it. There are several viewpoints with different heights to give you the best possible views. You can get to this viewpoint by car and also by bus.
Mirador Ses Animes
The Mirador Ses Animes (or Viewpoint of the Souls) is definitely worth a visit. It has a tower known as La Torre de Ses Animes or Torre del Verger, where you’ll get a real medieval feeling when you look out to sea. The landscape also features stepped rock structures that descend until they disappear into the blue of the Mediterranean. You can reach these viewpoints of Mallorca by using the MA-10 road, and they’re located between Banyalbufar and Estellencs.
Mirador Mal Pas
Located in Cap de Formentor, the Mirador Mal Pas offers an amazing view of the tip of the peninsula. It stands at more than 300 metres above sea level, and, on a clear day, you can climb the lighthouse tower and even see the island of Menorca from the top. It also has steps which take you to different viewpoints from where you’ll be able to contemplate the sea gently lapping the rocks. It’s one of the most popular viewpoints in Mallorca for tourists; you can get there by car and there’s even a car park.
The highest mountain in Mallorca
The highest peak in Mallorca is Puig Major, at 1445 metres above sea level. It’s also good to keep in mind that the summit is less than four kilometres from the sea.
Possibly one of the greatest viewpoints in Mallorca to truly appreciate the views of the peninsula is at the top of Puig Major, which you can access from a path off the MA-10 road. This imposing mountain has a beautiful natural richness to enjoy, along with its unique flora – you can even see the native fauna of the place, such as its amazing birds and mountain goats.
We should point out that the gradient becomes steeper and steeper as you approach the summit. For this reason, we would only recommend this climb for people in good physical condition, and with prior permission from the local authorities, as part of the route belongs to a military base. In short, this isn’t a climb for beginners. However, there are other lower trails you can take, and you can also clearly see Puig Major from the road.
The best sunsets and sunrises in Mallorca
What better way to enjoy a sunset than from one of these amazing Mallorcan viewpoints? If what you want is a more intimate and romantic style, the best option is the previously-mentioned Mirador Ses Animes, as it’s not usually too full of tourists and has some areas where you can sit and enjoy the colours of the sunset.
On the other hand, if you’re looking for the most majestic natural beauty for your selfies in the heights of the mountains, then the most recommended place is usually the viewpoint of Mal Pas, with its views of the Bay of Alcudia and Puerto Pollença. The views from this panoramic point will take your breath away, not to mention the view of the Mediterranean Sea that this viewpoint offers from the heights of the Serra de Tramuntana.
And, finally, if you’re in Palma de Mallorca, the viewpoint you just can’t miss is the Mirador Na Burguesa, 9 kilometres from the centre. From there, you can enjoy stunning views of the city which merge with the blue sea and create a quite unique sunset.
