5 perfect places to shop in Mallorca

We've told you many times about the versatility of Mallorca and the wide range of activities (for all tastes) that you can do on the island. So, if you're a shopping enthusiast, whether you're looking for the latest designs from your favourite fashion brands, unique local handicrafts, or simply want to enjoy the atmosphere while exploring the commercial streets of Mallorca, full of shops, then this is the compilation for you. Discover where to shop in Mallorca on the following pages:

1. Avenida Jaume III and surroundings

Avenida Jaume III is one of the main shopping areas in Mallorca and is a must if you're planning a day's shopping on the island. Situated in the heart of Palma, you will find all types of brands, from luxury stores to more affordable high street chains.

In addition to the constant hustle and bustle, the elegant architecture and the culinary offer of the area, with its restaurants, bars and cafes, stand out. In other words, we can say that Avenida Jaume III is equipped with all kinds of culinary establishments, ideal for taking a break, recharging your batteries and getting back to the rest of your shopping.

2. Centro Comercial FAN Mallorca

On the outskirts of Palma de Mallorca, very close to the airport, you will find the FAN Shopping Centre. It is a complex that houses a wide variety of shops (fashion, beauty, technology, sports, etc.) where you can find everything from local to international brands, restaurants, a hypermarket and even a cinema where you can watch the latest releases.

3. Mercado del Olivar

The Mercado del Olivar is one of the epicentres of the island's culinary culture. Opened in 1951 and strategically located between Plaça d'Espanya and Sant Miquel street, it is the ideal place to discover the authentic flavours of Mallorca.

If you want to buy gastronomic products in Mallorca, you must visit the Mercado del Olivar, where you will find stalls selling fresh fish and seafood, the best Mallorcan meats, local fruit and vegetables, cheeses and other handcrafted products such as wines. If you don't want to take anything home with you, but still want to taste these delicacies, the market also has bars where you can enjoy tapas made with these foods.

4. Sant Miquel and Sindicat streets

For a more local shopping experience, Sant Miquel and Sindicat streets are a must. Here you will find everything from small clothing and shoe shops to delicatessens and bakeries, offering a charming mix of the modern and the traditional. These streets are perfect for discovering local products and taking home a piece of Mallorca.

5. Plaça Major and surroundings

Although it is very close to the other places we have mentioned, Plaça Major is the perfect starting point for exploring the surrounding shopping streets such as Sant Miquel, Sindicat, Jaume II and Colom. This maze of narrow streets is full of unique shops, from jewellers to fashion and art boutiques. The square itself is also home to many craft stalls, ideal for finding souvenirs and special gifts.

6. Pollença Market

Located in the heart of the picturesque town of Pollença, this market offers an authentic experience for those who want to enjoy a morning of local and authentic Mallorcan shopping, thanks to the variety of traders who come with their stalls every Sunday.

The Pollença market takes place every Sunday from 8:00 to 13:30 and is one of the most popular and busiest on the island. It has around 300 stalls where you'll find everything from gastronomic products to fashion, typical Mallorcan decorations, souvenirs, handicrafts, jewellery, etc. Don't forget to have a drink in one of the nearby bars to recover from the walk and, if possible, take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the promenade and the Port of Pollença.

This market is located very close to our hotels VIVA Sunrise, VIVA Eden Lago, VIVA Blue & Spa, and VIVA Golf Adults Only 18+. So, if you are staying at any of them, the Pollença Market is a perfect option to explore the Mallorcan essence without needing to travel across the entire island.
