Our photovoltaic installation at VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort

What does the project involve?

The project includes the design and installation of a 100 kW grid-connected photovoltaic system, specifically created for self-consumption. The system has been efficiently integrated onto the rooftop of one of the main buildings within the hotel complex.

Main technical features

Our installation uses cutting-edge technology to ensure maximum energy performance:

- Installed capacity: The system has a total panel capacity of 99.735 kWp and a nominal inverter capacity of 100 kW.High-quality components: A total of 183 RISEN solar panels, 545 Wp model, have been installed, together with a latest-generation SMA Sunny Tripower CORE2 inverter, with an output capacity of 100 kW, to optimise efficiency and comply with regulatory requirements.

- Estimated production: The system is expected to generate approximately 144,195.49 kWh per year, making the most of the island’s solar radiation.

- Guaranteed efficiency: The system has been designed to achieve an overall performance ratio of 76.01%, taking into account factors such as location, thermal losses and electrical losses.

Purpose and benefits

The main objective of this investment is the transition towards a sustainable energy model. The project is based on three key pillars:

Efficient self-consumption: We aim to cover a significant part of our energy needs with clean energy generated directly on our rooftops.
- Surplus energy management: Under the “self-consumption with surplus energy subject to compensation” model, any energy we produce and do not use will be fed into the conventional electricity grid, receiving the corresponding compensation.

- Minimal environmental impact: The project directly contributes to reducing the hotel’s carbon footprint and has been planned in strict compliance with current environmental and safety regulations.

With this initiative, VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa reinforces its commitment to caring for the environment, offering our guests a space that respects and protects the natural beauty of our island.

At VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa, we are taking a decisive step towards a cleaner and more responsible future. We have launched an ambitious renewable energy project at our facilities located in the municipality of Capdepera, Mallorca.
