Day trips in Mallorca is one of the most interesting and enjoyable activities you can do. It helps us to disconnect, discover new places, people and cultures, it opens our minds and ultimately, it’s one of the best remedies for the monotonous and predictable nature of our daily routine.
In a sense, traveling around Mallorca is like immersing ourselves in a real dream, given that when we transport to a different location which we’re used to, everything changes: we live new experiences and even our perception is transformed.
However, this positive and enriching experience can occasionally be seen as damaged for a problem or adversity which, as we’re far from home, can appear more difficult to resolve.
Sometimes it’s enough to just follow some simple recommendations for travelers to guarantee our safety and enjoy the experience to the max.
1- Plan your trips right down to the last detail and with enough time, as rushing is never a good thing, especially when you’re on holiday.
2- Always keep your belongings in sight and, above all, always carry enough cash and all your important documents: credit cards, passport, DNI (National Identity Document), plane tickets…
3- When it comes to packing your bags, be practical don’t take too many clothes or unnecessary items. Prioritise the most important items.
4- If you’re going abroad, especially if there is a big distance both in kilometres and culture, research the rules, laws and customs. Try to adapt to wherever you are.
5- Once you’ve arrived at your destination, don’t try and see everything at once or as quickly as possible. Just go with the flow and do whatever you fancy.
6- Try to make friends everywhere! Chat to people even if you don’t speak their language well. Both smiles and sign language are universal and can get you further than you think.
7- You may also need to take out medical insurance, especially if you’re travelling outside of Europe where there are no agreements with the Spanish healthcare system.
8- Whenever you can, especially in cities, walk instead of taking a taxi or public transport. It’s the best way of exploring the city and immersing yourself within it.
9- When travelling, there tends to be a lot of waiting or delays when it comes to flights or trains. This can be demoralising, but, be patient and take advantage to read a book or e-book.
10- Don’t be afraid to travel alone: it’s a unique experience that will allow you to make great friends, among other things.
Accommodation is a key part of traveling. This is where you should select the option that best fits your tastes, needs and circumstances. Traveling alone or with other adults isn’t the same as traveling with children.
