Si hace sólo un par de semanas te hablamos de los 5 lugares imprescindibles a descubrir mientras paseas por Palma, ahora queremos recomendarte 5 pueblos que no puedes perderte durante tus vacaciones en Mallorca, pueblos en los que podrás sentir el encanto de las calles con historia, en los que podrás descubrir el aroma de la tradición y la cultura de la isla y, sobre todo, pueblos en los que el tiempo se detiene.

 
Pollença

Empezaremos nuestra ruta por los pueblos con más encanto de Mallorca en Pollença, el municipio más septentrional de Mallorca, ubicado al norte de la Serra de Tramuntana y que fue visitado por Winston Churchill y Agatha Christie entre otros. En las calles y plazas del centro de este pueblo los antiguos comercios y bares siguen conviviendo con la tranquilidad que caracteriza este pueblo, a excepción de cuando se celebran algunas de sus grandes fiestas, como son las celebraciones de “Moros i Cristians” o el Festival de Música. Entre los principales atractivos de Pollença se encuentra el Calvari, un santuario al que se accede tras subir 365 escalones, el impresionante mirador de Formentor o el Puerto de Pollensa.

Plan recomendado: recorrer la carretera que lleva hasta Formentor, considerada una de las mejores del mundo, poco antes del atardecer para ver desde allí la puesta de sol.

 

Valldemossa

Si en Pollença se alojaron personajes de la talla de Winston Churchill o Agatha Christie, otros tantos artistas ilustres han elegido Valldemossa como lugar de residencia, como Frederic Chopin, George Sand o recientemente Michael Douglas. Y las razones para elegirla son demasiadas para enumerarlas: desde la belleza de la impresionante Cartuja, que durante cuatro siglos fue habitada por los frailes cartujos, hasta el ambiente que reina en las calles que forman el centro del pueblo, llenas de tradición y encanto que, nada más llegar a Valldemossa, te conquistarán.

Plan recomendado: probar la coca de patata, típica de Valldemossa, en uno de los pequeños bares con terrazas llenas de magia que encontrarás en el centro del pueblo.

 

Sóller

Y en la zona de la Costa Norte de Mallorca, escondido entre las montañas, se encuentra otro de los pueblos más singulares de las Baleares, al que desde Palma se puede acceder o bien en coche a través de un túnel o bien haciendo un viaje en el tiempo gracias al tren de Sóller, que sigue funcionando de manera ininterrumpida desde 1912. Una vez que llegues a Sóller no podrás dejar de descubrir rincones que merecen ser fotografiados. El valle de los naranjos, la curiosa iglesia con fachada modernista proyectada por el discípulo de Gaudí Joan Rubió o cualquiera de las pequeñas callejuelas del casco histórico de Sóller.

Plan recomendado: perderse por el centro de Sóller, parando en los diferentes comercios de productos artesanales, mientras se saboreas un helado casero de mandarina.

 

 

Alcúdia

Nada más llegar al centro de Alcúdia te darás cuenta de por qué este municipio se merece una visita sin prisas: rodeada por una impresionante muralla del siglo XIV, el secreto encanto de Alcúdia parece refugiarse en las calles que desde 1362 han dotado este pueblo de un carácter único en la isla. Además, zonas como el Puerto de Alcúdia o Alcanada se convertirán en tu destino vacacional favorito gracias a las espectaculares panorámicas que podrás observar desde allí y a la comodidad de sus playas, así como el buen ambiente que reina durante el verano en Alcúdia.

Plan recomendado: subir al Puig de Sant Martí y disfrutar de las impresionantes vistas de las bahías de Alcúdia y Pollença.

Deià

 Y para terminar esta ruta por los pueblos con encanto tenemos   que volver a la Costa Norte de Mallorca para visitar un pueblo   único que sirve de frontera entre la Serra de Tramuntana y el mar   Mediterráneo. En sus calles encontró la inspiración Robert Graves,   y no es de extrañar gracias a la perfecta mezcla de naturaleza y   fincas mediterráneas que con sus paredes blancas y ventanas azules y verdes convierten las vistas desde Deià en un espectáculo único e imperdible para cualquier visitante a la isla.

If only a couple of weeks ago we told you about the 5 essential places to discover in Palma places, now we want to recommend 5 villages you cannot miss during your holiday in Mallorca, towns where you can feel the charm of streets full with history, where you can discover the flavor of the island tradition and culture and, especially, villages where time stands still.

 

Pollença

We begin our journey through the most charming villages of Mallorca in Pollença, a town in the north of Mallorca, near the Serra de Tramuntana, which was visited by Winston Churchill and Agatha Christie among many others. Walking through the streets and squares of the old town you’ll find shops and bars that are still sharing space with the tranquility that characterizes this town almost all year. The exception are the big parties celebrated in Pollença, such as the celebrations of "Moors and Christians" or the Music Festival. Some of the most interesting attractions in Pollença are the Calvari, a sanctuary that is up 365 steps, the impressiveFormentor viewpoint or Puerto Pollensa.

Recommended plan: take the road leading to Formentor, considered one of the best roads in the world, shortly before sunset so you can see the sunset from there.




Valldemossa

If people like Winston Churchill or Agatha Christie stayed in Pollença, there are also many artists who have chosen Valldemossa as a residence, as Frederic Chopin, George Sand or recently Michael Douglas. And the reasons for choosing it are too many, starting with the beauty of the stunning Cartuja, which was inhabited by the Carthusian monks for four centuries, until the atmosphere in the streets that form the center of town, full of tradition and charm. Recommended plan: try the “coca de patata”, a Valldemossa typical pie, at one of the small bars with terraces full of magic that you'll find in the town center.

And in the area of the North Coast of Mallorca, between the mountains, there is one of the most unique towns in the Balearic Islands, which from Palma is accessible either by car through a tunnel or making a trip in time with the Soller Railway, which continues to operate uninterruptedly since 1912. Once you get to Sólleryou won’t stop discovering places that deserve to be photographed. In addition, areas such as Puerto de Alcudia and Alcanada will become your favorite holiday destination thanks to the spectacular views that can be seen from there, the comfort of its beaches and the good atmosphere that prevails during summer in Alcúdia.

Recommended plan: climbing the Puig de SantMartí and enjoy the breathtaking views of the bays of Alcudia and Pollensa.

And to end this route through the most charming villages we must return to the North Coast of Mallorca to visit a unique town that borders between the Serra de Tramuntana and the Mediterranean Sea. In this streets Robert Graves found inspiration, and there are no doubts of it because of the perfect blend of nature and Mediterranean houses with its white walls and blue and green windows making the view from Deia a unique and unforgettable spectacle for any visitor to the island.

Recommended plan: walking down to CalaDeia from Deia to take a dip in one of the most special beaches in the area.
