Are you thinking of organising Mallorca holidays? First things first…

Congratulations! You’ve chosen the right destination, whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple or as a family. Mallorca has everything and it’s the perfect place for sports, relaxation, enjoying being surrounded by nature or cultural or gastronomic visits.

Also, if you follow our tips, your fantastic holidays will become truly excellent.

All the tips you’ll need for top Mallorca holidays

How to get to Mallorca

You’ve got two options: by plane or ferry. Various airlines fly to Mallorca and Palma airport is just 10km from the city, with good bus connections to the heart of the island (La Plaza Espanya) and all the tourist hotspots.

Both boat and plane are good options, but we’d recommend you start looking in advance so you don’t miss out (especially if you’re travelling in summer) and to make sure you get the best prices.

Things to do on the island

Mallorca offers so many possibilities and endless things to do, see and explore. To get the most out of your trip, we’d suggest you dedicate time to thinking and planning what you’d most like to do. This depends on your interests and circumstances, but here are some ideas:

  • Enjoying cycling, triathlon, golf or water sports. Sports holidays in Mallorca are both perfect and unforgettable.
  • Take time to focus on your wellbeing with treatments: Balneum, spa, massages, beauty, etc.
  • You can enjoy cultural visits around the old town and admire the Gothic Cathedral, the Lonja de los Mercaderes, La Amudaina or the Castell de Bellver.
  • Whatever you plan to do on holiday, don’t miss out on the incredible coves and beaches the island has to offer. There are more than 300 for all tastes: more or fewer services, more isolated or popular and bustling. They are all stunning with crystal clear, gorgeous turquoise water.
  • You mustn’t miss out on the Serra de Tramuntana, a mountain range that embraces the north of the island. It’s an explosion of incredible mountains combined with dreamlike beaches. To top everything off, there are also incredibly charming towns such as Valldemossa or Sóller.

Food tips

Mallorca is so charming and has so much to offer that sometimes, the cuisine is (unfairly) overshadowed. We’d suggest you try dishes such as:

  • Its famous ensaimadas.
  • The frit mallorqui, bunyols, tumbet, rubiols or the coca de trempó, all those authentic Mallorcan delights.
  • Don’t miss out on the chance to try some of the delicious local wines (there are more than 70 wine cellars on the island).

How to choose the right accommodation

There are so many hostels, hotels, apartments and aparthotels where you can stay in Mallorca and they’re divided into different types and categories, with a focus on different activities and holiday types. Our tip is to choose the type of accommodation that best suits your interests, and if you’re after a combination of sports leisure, relaxation and family time, Hotels VIVA is perfect. It offers many different options, so one of our establishments will be the perfect fit.

A perfect example of a family friendly hotel is VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa. Located right on the seafront, it’s perfect for both adults and kids to have a great time. It offers spectacular facilities and top-quality services: a wide range of restaurants, swimming pools for all tastes, two large jacuzzis and even a pirate ship so the little ones can try their hand at being sailors. The Balneum & Spa also stands out. Here you’ll be able to relax with our wide range of 100% natural treatments.

Enjoy everything Mallorca has to offer!
