Five tips for choosing the best all-inclusive hotel on Mallorca

Written by Elisabeth Blue | Jun 18, 2019 9:15:00 AM

Staying at an all-inclusive hotel on Mallorca has the advantage of not having to worry about anything except having a great time and relaxing. The kids love it too because they have everything in one place, they can do and eat as they please and they don’t waste time looking for places to eat lunch and dinner. Put another way, they have all the time in the world to play at the pool and the rest of the hotel’s amenities and to socialise with other children, monitors and entertainers.

Another advantage of the all-inclusive option is that it’s easier to control your expenses, which is why this type of service can often turn out to be better value-for-money. But it’s important to choose wisely, because if you go for the all-inclusive option it means spending more time in the hotel and if the venue or the food is not to your liking, the holiday is liable to suffer as a result.

How to choose the best all-inclusive hotel

  • Pay attention to the location.

Since you’re going to spend the greater part of the holiday in the hotel, it’s important that it is located near the areas and places that you’re going to want to visit.
  • Variety of restaurants.

You’re going to eat most of your meals in the hotel and buffets sometimes get boring and repetitive. So a good tip is to choose a hotel that offers a wide range of culinary variety and takes account of all manner of food intolerances and allergies.
  • Check the extra services.

Many all-inclusive hotels charge for certain services separately: particular restaurants, some drinks and it’s even possible for the bar service to be restricted to certain times. It’s important to take all this into account to ensure you don’t end up spending a fortune.
  • Consider whether you’re going to use all the services.

It could also be that this option includes things that you’re not actually going to use and therefore it doesn’t ultimately work out any cheaper. This is another point worth bearing in mind.

  • Be clear about what type of holiday you want to have.

If you’re going to go out a lot or you’re interested in the local cuisine on offer at nearby restaurants you might be better off choosing the accommodation-only option or half-board.
