The island of Mallorca is a wonder in itself, as confirmed by the locals and millions of tourists who visit the island each year. Its 550km of coastline and 345 diverse beaches, many of which are of exceptional quality, together with its natural parks, make this island a unique charm.

If we zoom in on Mallorca’s towns, we’ve got to add its peculiarities and the historic and cultural incentives we can find in each town, to the overall beauty of the island.

Towns in the north of Mallorca

Some of Mallorca’s most beautiful towns are located in the north of the island, very close to Hotels VIVA. You’ve already got the perfect plan mapped out: stay in one of our establishments, all of which are relaxing paradises perfect for family holidays, romantic getaways and sports such as cycling, triathlon or golf.

You can’t miss out on a visit to these nearby towns on the island:

Pollença

Located in the most northern part of Mallorca, Pollença is a stunning, medieval town. It’s home to emblematic locations such as El Calvari, with a staircase with 365 stairs, the Puente Romano (Roman Bridge - although it was actually built in the 15th century), or the Plaza Mayor.

As well as its cultural heritage, you can also admire and enjoy one of the island’s most incredible natural spots from Pollensa: Cap de Formentor, with genuine, dreamlike cliffs.

Alcudia

When visiting Alcudia, you’ll be able to enjoy two very different views of the island, both of which are just as fascinating. The living tradition and history breathed in the walled area of the town dates back to the 14th century and the modernity and luxury of the Port of Alcudia, just 2km away, with its long, idyllic beach.

Just 300m from the Bay of Alcudia, near Lago Esperanza, is the fantastic VIVA Eden Lago, with activities for all, fantastic facilities and top quality, all-inclusive services. Vanity Golf Adults Only 18+ by VIVA is located right on the seafront, with a golf course just 10 minutes from the hotel. You’ll be able to treat yourself to a relaxing massage, enjoy a cycling trip around the stunning Mallorca landscape or simply kick back, relax and enjoy a well-deserved rest, accompanied by the crashing of the waves in the background.

Capdepera

The most eastern part of Mallorca is home to the historic town of Capdepera, where you’ll find many settlements which date back to the Bronze Age. Since ancient times, the village was ordered to be built by King James II, around 1300 AD. The initial idea was to create a very safe, fortified town, located inside the top of the mountain, where it would be protected from pirates and other invaders who arrived by sea. The village gradually expanded and today, the original 14th century fortress, the Castell de Capdepera, is very well preserved and a must-see for history lovers.

There are some exceptional tourist areas near the town, such as Cala Ratjada or Cala Mesquida, a paradise for surf lovers.

VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa is a supreme quality, very family-friendly hotel which offers all-inclusive, or the more peaceful and exclusive Vanity Suites & Spa 16+ by VIVA, with an original 16+ only format. Both are located in this unique area, where you can enjoy the beach, nature and culture.

Muro

Further inland is Muro, a small, agricultural, traditional and picturesque town with its sandstone buildings, Gothic-Catalan Sant Joan Baptista church and the Muro Ethnological Museum which is located in a 17th century house. VIVA Blue & Spa is located in Playa de Muro, with a very interesting offering which combines relaxation, family and sports.
