A VIVA conversation with Jorge Muñoz

The natural landscape of Predi Son Jaumell is the perfect backdrop for the interview with Jorge Muñoz and Andreu Genestra. As the delicate beams of light filter through the trees, a conversation unfolds between friends about the effect of the pandemic on children.

Dr. Jorge Muñoz is a nationally renowned paediatrician and President of the NGO Ayuda al Chad (Help for Chad). He is one of the island's best-loved and most-recognised paediatricians, and is known for being open, honest and warm with his young patients.

During the interview, Jorge reflects on children's ability to adapt to difficult situations and how much they have taught adults during this pandemic. He highlights how children have shown incredible responsibility and discipline, even though it has been so very hard for them emotionally.

They have learnt not to hug, not to share, and not to leave their bubble... After the holidays, which we deserve more than ever, Jorge hopes that children's lives will become more and more normal as they start the new school year. But, for now, it’s time to enjoy summertime as a family:

“At the end of the day, we all need a rest.”
