Llega la vigésimo quinta edición de la Challenge ciclista Mallorca

Ya está a punto de empezar la Challenge Ciclista a Mallorca, una competición que llega ya a su edición número XXV y que llena de esfuerzo y adrenalina las principales carreteras y caminos de la isla durante cuatro días en sus cuatro torneos independientes.

Todo empieza el jueves 28 a las 11.55 en el Passeig d’Ernest Mestre de Felanitx, desde donde saldrá el pelotón participante en este primer Trofeo Felanitx-Ses Salines-Campos-Porreres, con un total de 174 kilómetros en el que los pueblos de Felanitx (pueblo natal de Guillermo Timoner, seis veces campeón del mundo de ciclismo en pista y trece veces campeón de España de medio fondo) y Porreres (cuna de Joan Llaneras, nueve veces medalla de oro en Mundiales y Juegos Olímpicos) son por primera vez parte de la Mallorca Challenge.

Al día siguiente se celebrará el Trofeo Pollença – Andratx, ruta que se recorrerá en sentido inverso a otras ediciones anteriores, bordeando la espectacular Serra de Tramuntana. Entre las 10.45 y las 11.35 será la concentración y firma en la plaza Mayor de Pollença y la salida será a las 11.50 en el Club Pollença, desde donde los ciclistas se dirigirán hasta Andratx, el origen de la Serra de Tramuntana.

Y la Serra de Tramuntana será la protagonista también del trofeo celebrado el sábado 30 de enero. 143 kilómetros son los que van a recorrer los ciclistas participantes del Trofeo Serra de Tramuntana-Sóller-Deià, por algunos de los pueblos con más encanto de la isla y que, en esta ocasión, ha rebajado el kilometraje en relación a ediciones anteriores dada a la dureza de este trayecto. La concentración será a las 10.45 en el Passeig del Port de Sóller y la salida, a las 11.55.

Finalmente, el Trofeo Playa de Palma de 161 kilómetros se celebra el próximo domingo 31 de enero que, aunque finaliza en el mismo circuito, tendrá cambios en los últimos 30 kilómetros. Ésta es probablemente una de las etapas más características y antiguas de la Challenge y empezará a las 9.55 en la Avda. Fra Joan Llabrés de la Playa de Palma.

Un total de 20 equipos, entre ellos el español Movistar Team y los conocidos Team Sky, Lotto-Soudal o Trek Factory Racing, entre los que se encontrarán los ciclistas que relevarán a Matteo Pelucchi, Steve Cummings y Alejandro Valverde, ganadores del Trofeo Santanyí - Ses Salines - Campos y del Trofeo Palma, del trofeo Andratx – Mirador d’Es Colomer y del trofeo Serra de Tramuntana, respectivamente, en la anterior edición de la Mallorca Challenge. ¡Buena suerte a todos!

The twenty-fifth edition of the Challenge Mallorca cycling is about to start

The Challenge Mallorca cycling is about to start, a competition that has reached its XXV edition that fills of effort and adrenaline the major highways and roads of the island for four days in four separate tournaments.

It all starts on Thursday 28 at 11.55 in the Passeig d'Ernest Mestre of Felanitx, from where the participants of this first Trophy Felanitx- Ses Salines – Campos – Porreres will start, with a total of 174 kilometers where the towns of Felanitx (hometown of Guillermo Timoner, six times world champion in track cycling and thirteen times Spain champion in middle distance) and Porreres (birthplace of Joan Llaneras, nine times gold medal in World Championships and Olympic Games) are for the first time a part of the Mallorca Challenge.

The next day will be held the trophy Pollença - Andratx, a route that will travel in the opposite direction to earlier editions, along the spectacular Serra de Tramuntana. Between 10.45 and 11.35 participants will meet and firm in the main square of Pollença and departure will be at 11.50 in Club Pollença, where cyclists will go to Andratx, the origin of the Serra de Tramuntana.

And the Serra de Tramuntana will be the star of the trophy also held on Saturday January 30th. 143 kilometers are going be the tour of the cyclists which participate in the Trophy Serra de Tramuntana-Soller-Deia, that goes along some of the most charming villages of the island and, on this occasion, has lowered mileage compared to previous years due to the hardness of this journey. The concentration will be at 10.45 on Passeig del Port de Sóller and output, at 11.55.

Finally, the Playa de Palma Trophy with its 161 kilometers is going to be held on Sunday January 31^st and although it ends on the same circuit, the lasta 30 kilometers will change. This is probably one of the most characteristic and oldest stages of the Challenge and will begin at 9.55 in the Avda. Fra Joan Llabrés of Playa de Palma.

A total of 20 teams, including the Spanish Movistar Team and the well-known Sky Team, Lotto-Soudal and Trek Factory Racing, including cyclists that will relieve Matteo Pelucchi, Steve Cummings and Alejandro Valverde, who won the Trophy Santanyí - Ses Salines - Campos and the Palma Trophy, the Trophy Andratx - Mirador d'Es Colomer and the trophy Serra de Tramuntana, respectively, in the previous edition of the Mallorca Challenge.
