VIVA HOTELS IN CIUTADELLA
The island is a real mix of cultures, from the Megalithic villages with their typical “taulas”, to Phoenicians, Romans, Arabs, Catalans, English and French, all of whom have left their mark on the small island. The features left by the English are the dairy tradition; gin, which has its special version here: the “gin xoriguer” with which the “pomada” (traditional drink) is made; and their own vocabulary.
The capital of the island is Maó (or Mahón), but Ciutadella is the town with highest population density. On its west side it is a stately city with a very picturesque harbour, and streets and buildings that convey the legacy of the cultures that have been on the island. Cala’n Bosch is a holiday resort in the Ciutadella municipality, ideal for families; a safe and quiet place by a cove with white sand, washed by crystal-clear waters.
