What to do in Mallorca as a couple?

A few days' getaway to Mallorca is one of the best trips you could take as a couple. The island has so much to offer: from paradisiacal coves to first-class restaurants, and here you’ll find the best options for a dream romantic getaway.

Would you like to know what you can do as a couple in Mallorca? Read on to discover Hotels VIVA's recommended activities for those of you who want to disconnect and enjoy your holidays to the full.

Discover the most beautiful hidden coves on the island

One of the essential activities to do in Mallorca is to visit its spectacular beaches and coves. No matter what time of the year you go, you simply must go and discover these special landscapes that mix the Mediterranean Sea, rocky outcrops, and pine trees, all so characteristic of Mallorca.

Fortunately, the island has a long summer season, and you can swim from May to September. We’re sure you’re wondering what the weather is like in Mallorca. Well, in July and August it reaches 30°C, and in the rest of the spring and summer the temperature ranges between 23°C and 28°C.

With more than 300 beaches and coves all around the island, it’s difficult to choose the best ones. But we’ve chosen three that stand out for being unspoilt, peaceful paradises, ideal for a day of relaxation:

And, if you want to enjoy naturism as a couple whilst bathing in the calmest and warmest waters on the island, then here are three nudist beaches in Mallorca that we recommend:

  • Cala Moltó
  • Cala Sequer
  • Cala Varques

Having a walk through Palma de Mallorca

A walk through the historic streets of Palma is one of the things you just mustn’t miss. The island's capital has an amazing history, with museums and buildings that will transport you back in time.

So, what are the best things to visit when you’re there? Two of the places you absolutely must go and see are the Cathedral of Mallorca and the Royal Palace of La Almudaina. These two buildings, right next to each other, will help you to learn a little more about the history of the island, as well as enjoying its impressive architecture. After visiting them, how about a stroll along the promenade to marvel at the Mediterranean waters and the array of boats?

And if you want to continue exploring the medieval areas of the island, then we recommend a walk through the historic city centre of Alcúdia, very close to our VIVA hotels.

A relaxing day in the spa

What can you do in Mallorca if you want to relax and switch off from your daily routine? In addition to the island's spectacular beaches, you can treat yourself to a day of total relaxation in a spa.

In our hotels VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa, VIVA Blue & Spa and VIVA Suites & Spa (adults only) you can enjoy the best facilities to relax both body and mind. In these hotels, you’ll find the Balneum Spa that offers massages, a swimming pool with hydromassage, a jacuzzi, a sauna, beauty treatments and much more that you can enjoy as a couple.

A romantic dinner for two

Highly regarded for its gastronomy and winemaking, Mallorca has an enormous variety of local restaurants where you’ll be able to taste the flavours of the island. And so one of the best things you can do as a couple in Mallorca is to enjoy the exquisite Mallorcan dishes and wines in one of its most famous restaurants:

  • Restaurante Andreu Genestra, a gastronomic restaurant located in our hotel Predi Son Jaumell. The hallmark restaurant of our Michelin-starred chef Andreu Genestra. His cuisine stands out for the preparation of local dishes, based on zero-kilometre products, selected directly from his own vegetable garden.
  • Senzill by Andreu Genestra, another of the chef's recommendations, which you’ll also find in our hotel Predi Son Jaumell.  A more casual option, but just as delightful. Fresh and original cuisine, made from the products of the gardens.
  • Adrian Quetglas Restaurant, in the centre of Palma and also boasting a Michelin star.
  • Sadrassana, in Palma's old town, proud owners of a Repsol Sol award.

Enjoy sunsets by the sea

Is there anything more romantic than a sunset? In Mallorca, sunsets are even more special, because in certain parts of the island you can watch the sun set into the sea. This is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful sights around.

One of the most visited places to watch the sunset in Mallorca is the Mirador Colomer viewpoint, with benches available to watch the sunset from.

If you want to enjoy the sunset with a glass of cava and a bite to eat, then why not enjoy it from a terrace in the Serra de Tramuntana? We highly recommend the Mirador de Na Foradada Restaurant.

For the more adventurous among you, watching the sunset from the Faro de Formentor lighthouse is quite stunning. To preserve the essence of the lighthouse and to control the flow of visitors, there’s no access by car, but you can get there by public transport or authorised cars (for people with reduced mobility, for example). Read all the ways to get there and the restrictions here.

We hope you’ve enjoyed our list of things to do as a couple in Mallorca and that we’ve encouraged you to plan a getaway to this beautiful Mediterranean island. We look forward to seeing you there!

¡VIVA romance!
