Mallorca is the favourite destination of Europeans wanting to play golf in Mallorca throughout the year. Well-known golf professionals and enthusiasts use this paradise to prepare for their upcoming tournaments.

The island of the sun adapts to your needs and lets you savour a magnificent setting. If you’re still not convinced, I’ll give you three good reasons to play golf in Mallorca. Pay attention!

1- The most spectacular golf courses

The varied and perfectly-tended golf courses in the midst of stunning natural landscapes offer ideal conditions to enable you to enjoy a relaxing golf holidays. The difficulty is in deciding on the best golf course in Mallorca, given that they all have something that makes them special.

Located in the northern part of the island are Mallorca’s most picturesque golf courses. The Alcanada Golf Club in Alcudia is one of the most beautiful in Europe and offers spectacular views of the bay. The fairways are undulating, and the spacious greens feature many concealed slopes. The 18 strategically-located bunkers ensure that a round of golf here is always an interesting challenge. And if you decide to take a break, the club terrace offers unique views; here visitors are greeted by exquisite and delicious Mallorcan specialities.

No tour is complete without a visit to Golf Pollensa, which boasts the two longest holes on Mallorca. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, this club is ideal. It has a clubhouse with a swimming pool and restaurant that are usually open to non-players. The enchanting olive trees and stunning views of both the sea and the mountains round off the golf-playing experience. A perfect day out!

To the east of Palma you’ll find the island’s most demanding golf course. Here, set amidst an idyllic landscape, lies Golf Son Gual, a private, family club that is easily on a par with others of international renown. Exclusivity is a major feature, and this also applies to the restaurant with its adjoining terrace and the golf shop. The course is modern, with large areas of water and plentiful bunkers. The surrounding olive tree-filled landscape is guaranteed to enchant!

I also recommend Golf Canyamel, where you’re sure to kill two birds with one stone: the Canyamel course offers the chance to enjoy not only an excellent round of golf, you’ll also be able to soak up magnificent views of the island of Menorca on the horizon. It is a visit that truly repays the effort. But the complex itself is spectacular, boasting impressive facilities and small and picturesque stone walls that are found throughout the area and serve as a reminder of the land’s agricultural past. Tortoises on the golf course are also a common and agreeable sight. So now you know…there’s no shortage of places to choose from!

2- Ideal climate

Mallorca has an ideal climate throughout the year, enabling golf enthusiasts and professionals to come and play the sport at any time. The climate is typically Mediterranean, which means it has very hot and short summers, while the winter months are mild.

The period in which most tourists visit is between May and September. It is a period that combines a low risk of rain, an agreeable sea temperature and plentiful hours of sunshine… simply the best! Any time of year is good for professional golfers preparing for their forthcoming tournaments, however ... a veritable pleasure!

3- Exclusive hotels close to the golf courses

Hotels on Mallorca, if you choose carefully, have everything you need to ensure that your golf holidays score 10 out of 10. And the best thing of all? You have a range of hotels just a few minutes from the most exclusive golf courses.

Vanity Hotel Golf & Spa is adults only and situated in the Alcudia area, right on the beach. It’s perfect for your golf holiday, because it offers various packages enabling you to enjoy your favourite sport, not only practising it but with the possibility of entering innumerable competitions. Nearby you have the Golf de Alcanada course, so that when you finish playing you can go directly to the hotel to enjoy a relaxing massage at the Balneum centre.

Located a matter of metres away from the Sierra de Tramuntana is the Hotel VIVA Sunrise, ideal for spending family holidays . Here the smallest members of the family will be kept entertained with a host of fun activities. And obviously this will enable you to pay a visit to Pollensa Golf Club, one of the island’s historic courses boasting stunning views.

At VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa we’ll give you the treatment you deserve, whether with your partner, your friends or your children. Not only is it close to the wonderful beach of Cala Mesquida, with its crystal-clear and turquoise waters, it is also handily located for Canyamel Golf, which is only 15 minutes away.

There’s something priceless about enjoying your holidays while playing your favourite sport. But if you do it on the island paradise of Mallorca I guarantee that your days will be unforgettable.
