Mallorca Trip. Cala Mesquida – Cala Torta – Cala Mitjana – Torre d’Aubarca

Starting at the stunning beach of Cala Mesquida, just a few metres from Hotels VIVA Cala Mesquida Resort & Spa and Vanity Suite & Spa, you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful trip around the Mallorca coastline easy difficulty level with stunning landscapes. It’s an easy route that will take us to the Torre d’Aubarca, one of the watchtowers that line Mallorca’s coast.

The Torre d’Aubarca or Torre d’es Matzoc was built to gain a view over the Canal de Menorca during the British occupation of the neighbouring island. Today, it’s an idyllic spot to enjoy the sunset with a spectacular view over the Mediterranean coast and the heart of palm, or “carritx”, local to Mallorca.

So, get your trainers on and get ready to enjoy the stunning landscapes!

Technical difficulty: Easy

Duration: 3 hours 35 minutes

Start the route at Cala Mesquida, taking the path located to the left looking out towards the sea. You’ll see a perfectly marked pathway.

Walk a few kilometres without turning off, following the markings you’ll find along the way. You can’t get lost.

After about an hour of gentle walking, you’ll get to Playa de Cala Torta, one of the unspoilt beaches most valued and appreciated by the people of Mallorca. During the summer months, its beach bar is the perfect place to enjoy fresh fish brought straight off the boat by the fishermen. It’s a classic that’s both authentic and magical.

Whatever the season, get out, take a walk and enjoy watching the gulls! After this quick break, the route continues towards Cala Mitjana.

Cala Mitjana is a paradisiac cove lined with sand, crystal-clear water and surroundings so pure it’s like a trip back in time.

From here, you’ll start the climb towards the Torre d’Aubarca, passing through a pine forest. You’ll get there fine as long as you don’t wander away from the coastline and keep following the markings. During the route you’ll start to see the Tower around each bend. That’s the final destination, where you’ll be able to stop for a breather.

Between Cala Mitjana and Torre d’Aubarca, you can appreciate the island of Menorca. If you do the trip in the evening, you’ll be able to take in the view of the lights on the neighbouring island.

Follow the path, you’re nearly there! Finally, you’ll reach Torre d’Aubarca or Torre d’es Matzoc, from which you’ll be able to enjoy a panoramic view of Mallorca. There are some gorgeous, safe cliffs, which allow you to enjoy Mallorca in all its glory.

Now, recharged and full of life, it’s time to head back down towards the hotel. You’ve earned a good rest at our restaurant, La Terrazza, from which you’ll be able to look out to sea in its purest form!
