Mallorca 312 is one of the top ten cycle touring events in the world, and not only because of the distance (312 kilometres, hence the name) but also because it runs through some of the most spectacular natural landscapes in Mallorca. There’s also an intermediate route (225 kilometres) and a shorter one at 167 km.
The incredible landscapes include the beaches in the north of the island and, in particular, the impressive Tramuntana mountain range, which runs through Mallorca from northeast to southwest and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2011.
It’s estimated that around 8,000 riders of many different nationalities take part in this sporting event every year, and almost every year the race totally sells out.
Over the years, both amateur and professional cyclists have taken part in the race, with leading names such as Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador, Purito, Mavi García, Jan Ullrich, Joseba Beloki, Óscar Pereiro and Óscar Freire.
Mallorca 312 is also a socially and environmentally conscious event, as the organisers make donations to non-profit organisations and encourage healthy eating and waste recycling.
Playa de Muro, next to Port d'Alcúdia, on the northeast coast of the island, is both the starting and finishing point of the race. This is also where some of our hotels are located, making it a very convenient accommodation option.
