This year, the Rolex Challenge Tour-Grand Final will also be held on our island, and will take place from the 3rd to the 6th of November at the Club de Golf Alcanada, in Port d'Alcúdia.
The event returns to Mallorca after the 2019 edition, when the Italian Francesco Laporta won the Rolex Grand Final and coupled it with the Road to Mallorca Ranking.
The Rolex Challenge Tour is a unique event which, in recent years, has become an attractive option for the young rising talents in the world of golf in general, and for Balearic golfers, in particular.
The event has been organised with the support of the R&A, with the 45 top players in the Road to Mallorca ranking taking part in it.
The 20 best ranked players will secure their place on the 2023 European Tour, which this year has 47 tournaments in 27 different countries, offering total prize money of over 200 million dollars.
The Rolex Challenge Tour-Grand Final is a 72-hole, no-cut event. If there's a tie, there'll be a hole-by-hole playoff.
In the 2022 edition, there will be €500,000 in prize money up for grabs, and up to 500,000 qualifying points.
Some of the players taking part in the Grand Final are South Africa's "J.C." Ritchie, the German Alexander Knappe, the Swedes Mikael Lindberg and Nathan Kimsey, and the Australian Daniel Hillier.
We'll also see the Spanish golfers Alejandro del Rey, Emilio Cuartero Blanco, Borja Virto, and Javier Sáinz.
The Rolex Challenge Tour-Grand Final will be held at the Alcanada Golf Club, in the north of Mallorca, in the Bay of Alcúdia.
With breathtaking views, Alcanada's 18 holes are surrounded by beautiful landscapes - it's the only golf course on the island with sea views.
Alcanada Golf Mallorca was designed in 2003 by the American architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., who, like his father, has either built or redesigned dozens of golf courses all over the world.
Within its layout, the typical Trent Jones pitfalls are to be seen, such as the 58 bunkers on the sides of the greens and on the fairways, the difficult greens with hidden breaks, and the tricky, albeit rewarding, tee shots.
All these features make this course one of the most popular with experienced golfers visiting Mallorca.
If you're visiting the Rolex Challenge Tour-Grand Final as a member of the public, you'll be able to move around the golf course very easily, although you'll have to follow the instructions of the organisation's staff.
