Are you planning your next family holiday?

At Hotels VIVA we decided to put together this list of things to do with kids in Mallorca.

As you already know, our island is unique for so many reasons, one of them being the wide range of leisure activities available for the youngest members of the family!

What to do with kids in Mallorca: 6 great ideas for your next family holiday

1- Enjoy the family-friendly beaches

Beaches are one of our main attractions.

Besides, children love water and, if you visit the island in summer and don't know what to do with them, this is the perfect plan!

Of course, in our hotels they'll have a ball in our fantastic pools and water activity areas, but a trip to the beach is never a bad idea!

And what beach do we recommend for kids? Playa de Muro - it's always clean, with plenty of shade and shallow waters, which will guarantee a relaxing, safe time.

Other beautiful beaches in Mallorca to visit with the kids are Cala Deià and Cala Estellencs.

In both cases, you have the option of following a small, fairly simple circular trail and ending the walk with a refreshing dip in the sea.

2- Visit the dolphins in their natural habitat

If your children like animals, then you'll be pleased to know that Mallorca offers a wide variety of animal-based activities for them.

The most appealing is the chance to see dolphins freely swimming in their natural environment, an experience that combines a boat trip, swimming, and dolphin watching. A wonderful plan!

If you fancy taking this excursion, then there are different offers available.

We recommend that you book in advance, especially in the high season.

You can take these trips from Puerto Pollença, Alcúdia, Paguera, Cala Ratjada, and Santa Ponsa.

3- Take a trip on a century-old train

If you don't know what to do with kids in Mallorca, then here's a great idea for you - a trip on the Palma-Sóller line on an old wooden train.

As well as getting to see the beautiful town of Sóller, its church and its Modernist buildings, you can round off your trip by taking a tram to the port for a leisurely stroll around the area.

4- Discover Bellver Castle and the fascinating history of Palma

Bellver Castle is located about 4 kilometres from Palma.

Surrounded by an impressive green forest, this is the perfect option if you want to get away from the noise of the city and enjoy nature and the stunning views of Palma and its bay.

As for the castle, it's quite unique, both for its circular shape and its fascinating history.

The visit includes entrance to the History of Palma Museum, which is very interesting and educational for children.

You can get to Bellver Castle by car, taxi or tourist bus.

5- Look for restaurants with options for everyone

Mallorca's cuisine is one of the island's main attractions, although it can sometimes be difficult to keep the kids happy.

One of the advantages of opting for VIVA all-inclusive hotels is that you don't have to worry about meals. There's a wide selection for everyone, all included in the price of your stay, and you don't have to venture out!

Having said that, going out for lunch or dinner on your holiday is always something to consider.

We recommend you look for restaurants with children's menus, themed restaurants, restaurants with appealing decor, or those with a children's playground/play corner.

6- Spend a day at a theme park

If you're on holiday in Mallorca, why not round off your family holiday with a visit to a theme park?

Here are some of our suggestions:

  • Katmandú Park: a theme park set in a fantasy world.
  • Jungle Parc: adventure-based theme parks with zip lines, climbing walls, etc.
  • Hidropark Alcùdia: a water park with endless slides and pools to spend the whole day there.
  • Western Park: A water park located in Magaluf with swimming pools, splash pools, a large jacuzzi, and slides for all ages.
  • Parque Acuático Aqualand: Mallorca's largest water park and a leader in terms of its facilities, with areas for all ages.
