If we mention water, malt, hops and yeast, what are we talking about? Beer of course! If you’re a beer lover like us, then don't miss the chance to take part in beer tourism in Mallorca (always responsibly, of course!).

Today on the Hotels VIVA blog, we’re going to take you on a tour of the best micro-factories so that you can enjoy some great beer-tasting during your stay on the island. Also, if you’re looking for more ideas of what to do in Mallorca as a couple, with friends, or as a family, then you’ll find endless ideas on our blog.

Why choose beer tourism in Mallorca?

Enjoying a relaxing beer is an undeniable pleasure when you’re on holiday. And if it’s a crafted beer, then there’s an even greater incentive. However, here at Hotels VIVA, we recommend moderate and responsible alcohol consumption.

For geographical reasons, the islands have had more limited access to certain raw materials throughout history, and there have always been problems obtaining the ingredients needed to make beer. However, this hasn’t got in the way of creativity and art.

Local producers in Mallorca have carried out a number of brewing projects and have created craft beers, using "what the land has to offer" in their brewing process.

The result is an authentic, local product that you can enjoy in the very place it has been brewed in.

The experience often includes beer tasting and a tour of the brewery, where they explain how they prepare the beer and their special fermentation techniques.

Let’s start the beer tourism tour!

Beer Lovers

Beer Lovers Mallorca is a factory located in the town of Alcudia.

They mix tradition and a love of the land with the best technology. Located in a restored family manor house, their beers are pleasantly sweet with a citric after taste.

"Only for beer lovers" is how they define their business. On their premises, they offer tours and tastings, where they explain - in a fun way - things you should take into account when enjoying a beer.

Adalt Brewing

This is a very modern micro-factory located in Palma, and you can enjoy beer tasting in their beautiful courtyard.

Its creators make small batches (500 ml) in which they experiment with different styles and try to improve the recipe with each brew. They package their beer in cans for preservation and sustainability.

The labelling will definitely catch your eye, as it’s created by local artists.

Sullerica

This beer was created in Sóller, and today it’s widely distributed throughout the island.

Its creator began by brewing beer for their own consumption, but over time, and with a lot of passion, they began to brew it for selling.

The project was born through the dream of creating a high-quality beer. This brand decided to enrich its drinks with orange blossom, which is very typical of the Sóller region.

As a result, they have created three full-flavoured beers without any preservatives or pasteurization, 100% craft!

Don't miss out on a visit and some beer tasting on their premises!

Forastera

This beer is brewed in Molinar de Palma.

As it’s a craft beer, its creators tell us that its taste can vary somewhat, and, for this reason, craft beers may taste slightly different to other previously tasted beers with similar characteristics.

They also offer tours and tastings on their premises.

Toutatis

In Sencelles we can find this microbrewery, created by a Belgian who settled on the island.

His philosophy is one of respect for rural life and traditions.

From a very young age, the artisan was amazed by the small-scale breweries in his home village, where local ingredients were used and the brewing processes were carefully controlled.

This beer is made in an old restored cellar, maintaining the essence of its traditional methods, but with the latest technology and utmost respect for the environment.

It also offers guided tours and tastings.

These are just some of many places you can enjoy on your beer tourism tour of the island of Mallorca, and all of them have an additional charm: their local roots. They brew traditional beer recipes using new technology and local produce.

In these microbreweries you can experience the charms of craft brewing, a must for a good beer tourism tour.
