A fabulous MTB weekend break for mountain biking enthusiasts on the 13th, 14th and 15h of October. Viva Sports MTB weekend is a fantastic initiative from Cala Mesquida Resort that combines incredible cycling routes in the beautiful natural areas surrounding the hotel with classes on technique and mechanics as well as accommodation in a hotel with spectacular views.
The spectacular natural beauty of these cycling routes is one of the best things about this MTB weekend in Majorca. Aina Martínez-Atienza, the Sports Manager at Viva Blule will accompany the 15 participating bikers on their routes which she claims “have a medium to high degree of technical difficulty and therefore require a high level of physical preparedness.”
Cala Mesquida will welcome the 15 bikers on Friday the 13th with the first Viva Sports MTB Weekend. This fabulous experience begins with a meeting where the athletes will receive a gift bag including a water bottle, a sports jersey and samples of sports nutrition products, courtesy of the 3 Action brand.
Saturday´s 38-kilometre itinerary begins at Cala Mesquida with a route that winds through lush forests, beautiful beaches, secluded coves and woods filled with pine, palm and broom trees. The most impressive stretch is the Camí des Racó with meets Cala Mitjana and arrives at an agricultural touristic site from the 15th centuray at the top of a mountain with views of the Llevant Nature Reserve. The route also goes through Artá toward the Betlem Shrime and arrives at Verger where you will experience a spectacular descent. The route continues between mountains, beaches and the Matzoc Tower. On the final stretch, you will have to carry the bike on your back to proceed toward Cala Mitjana and Cala Torta coves. A fun yet challenging trail will then lead you back to Cala Mesquida.
Sunday´s 30-kilometre MTB itinerary also begins at Cala Mesquida and continues through Cala Torta, Camí des Racó y Ses Costellades with incredible surroundings and views throughout the trip. You will cycle to Na Llòbrega, a secluded and unspoilt cove and the namesake for this natural bike park and continue toward Cala Moltó and go up Coll de Marina. On the return route you will going up Es Telégrafo mountain, surrounding by pine and palm trees. The route ends with a descent through spectacular mountain trails as you take in the incredible beauty of Majorca on your way back to Cala Mesquida.
