Can Picafort

GASTRONOMY

The gastronomic tradition of the island is very rich; it has a homemade flavour which has been transmitted from generation to generation through culinary knowledge, resulting in popular recipes that have acquired subtle differences in each home.

The local cuisine is distinctly Mediterranean in each of its ingredients and cooking methods. The island’s typical diet is based on simple food, but with a big helping of creativity and ingenuity. For special festive days the recipes are more elaborate, with exquisite and refined combinations and stuffings.

From Hotels Viva we would like to share our selection of restaurants, combining more traditional places with the most avant garde ones.

The Mediterranean flavour is characterised by healthy ingredients, rich in vegetables and olive oil. The fact of being an island and the resulting “isolation” have led to a cuisine with ingredients close at hand, enhanced local flavour and guaranteed freshness. You can sample these characteristics in the small selection of restaurants we offer below.
